Denise Gonzales Crisp is a graphic designer, writer, and Professor Emerita of Graphic Design at North Carolina State University College of Design. A topic she dubbed the “DecoRational,” defending and writing alternative design discourse, constitutes ongoing design research. She is the author of Graphic Design in Context: Typography (Thames & Hudson, 2012). She specializes in contextual thinking and contrary making.
